Gombera Drops Out Of ITA Qualifier

Tanya Gombera (Harare,
Zimbabwe/Chisipite Senior School) lost 6-0, 6-0 to Indiana's
Lindsay Stuckey on Thursday in the singles qualifier of the
Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional
Championships being held on the Michigan State campus.
Gombera also dropped her consolation match, losing 6-3, 6-1 to
Illinois-Chicago's Lubica Naddasska.
Gombera will team with fellow Zips athlete
Amy
Sherlock (Halifax, Nova Scotia,
Canada/Sacred Heart HS) in Friday's qualifying round of
doubles. Doubles play is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.
EDT.
The singles finalists and doubles champion from this event will
earn spots in the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships
hosted by Ohio State at the Racquet Club of Columbus on Nov.
2-5.
