Tennis Loses To Buffalo, 7-0

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron tennis team fell 7-0 to Buffalo in a Mid-American Conference match at LaTuchie Tennis Center on Tuesday.
The loss dropped the Zips to 4-13 (0-5 MAC), while the Bulls improved to 11-4 and 3-2 against league opponents.
Buffalo opened the day by sweeping doubles play, however, the Akron pair of Amy Sherlock (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada/Sacred Heart) and Alyssa Carlson (Rockford, Ill./Lutheran) pushed their match against Kristen Ortman and Miglena Nenova at No. 2 to 8-6.
Play in singles was also all Buffalo as the Bulls won five of the six matchups in straight sets. Sherlock hung tough at the No. 3 spot, losing the first set 7-6 (3) and the second 6-3 to Natalie Dean.
The Zips return to the court on Friday when they continue conference play at Northern Illinois. First serve is set for 2 p.m. EDT.
