Tennis Completes Day Two At ITA Regional

ANN ARBOR, Mich. University of Akron tennis athlete Tanyaradzwa Gombera (Harare, Zimbabwe/Chisipite Senior HS) lost 6-1, 6-1 to Illinois' Kristina Minor on Friday in the singles qualifier round of 16 at the Wilson/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Championships being held on the University of Michigan campus.
Also on Friday, Gombera teamed with Amy Sherlock (Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada/Sacred Heart HS) in the event's main doubles draw. The pair fell 8-1 to Michigan State's Lindsey Lonergan and Manon Noe in the opening round of 64.
The singles finalists and doubles champion from
this event will earn spots in the ITA National Intercollegiate
Indoor Championships in Columbus on Nov. 2-5.
