Men's Golf Resumes Fall Play at Xavier Invitational

-After a week off, The University of Akron men's golf team will
resume fall play this Monday at the Xavier Invitational hosted by
Xavier University at the Oasis Golf Club in Loveland, Ohio.
The Zips posted one of their best finishes of the 2007-08 season
last year at the Xavier Invitational when they finished seventh
carding a consistent three round score of 852 (281-287-284) on the
par-72, 6,921-yard course.
Former Zips player Colin Clemente, now an assistant coach for
Akron, finished in second at the event carding a 204 (69-69-66),
which earned him MAC Golfer of the Week honors for the week of Oct.
3, 2007.
Senior David Addison and junior Jacob
Patte will play for the Zips at this year's tournament along
with freshmen Tim Lew, Ryan
Mason and Scott Landreth.
The first 36 holes will be played on Monday with the final 18
played on Tuesday. Both days will begin with a shotgun start at 8
a.m. (EST) with Tuesday's pairing based on Monday's results.
The 54-hole tournament welcomes 19 teams to the tournament
including four fellow Mid-American Conference schools in Bowling
Green, Ball State, Ohio and Toledo.
Other schools playing include Austin Peay, Campbell, Cincinnati,
Eastern Kentucky, George Washington, Marquette, Marshall, Maryland,
Princeton, San Francisco, Towson, West Florida and Winthrop.
