Zips Prepare for FirstEnergy Intercollegiate

Akron, Ohio-Coming off their best finish of the
spring, The University of Akron men's golf team heads crosstown to
Kent State University Saturday to participate in the one day,
36-hole FirstEnergy Intercollegiate at the Windmill Lakes Golf
Club.
Akron played its best golf of the spring season last weekend
posting a fourth place finish at the 32nd Annual Rutherford Intercollegiate hosted by
Penn State University carding a three round score of 907
(295-300-312). Shining
for the UA on the weekend was senior Ryan Gutowski who finished fifth overall, his
highest finish of the spring season, leading Akron with a three round score of 222
(71-71-80).
The Zips will look to capitalize on their strong performance as they head to Ravenna, Ohio to play on the par-70, 6,936-yard course amongst 11 other teams including fellow Mid-American Conference schools, Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Ohio, and Toledo along with Cleveland State, Dayton, Oakland, Saint Francis, Youngstown State and the Junior National Team, RCGA.
The FirstEnergy Intercollegiate is the Zips last tournament before they head to Nashport, Ohio for the 2008 MAC Championships (May 2-4).
