Tennis Concludes Altered Day One at Wildcat Fall Invite
October 10 | Women's Tennis
- In the first day of competition at the Wildcat Fall Invitational on the campus of Northwestern on Friday, two University of Akron doubles pairs advanced themselves to the consolation final of their respective bracket.
Heavy rains in the Evanston area forced competition indoors to the Combe Tennis Center and prevented the start of singles play. Friday's altered competition schedule didn't conclude until nearly midnight. Action is set to resume with the first round of singles on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET, outdoors at NU's Vandy Christie Tennis Center.
The Akron pairs of Angelika Jogasuria and Anya Baronayte, and Angelina Jogasuria and Prang Pantusart will face one another in the consolation final of flight A doubles. Both groups suffered first round losses on Friday, but rallied with two convincing wins each to move one other into the all Zips final.
Representing UA in flight B doubles was the team of Jeremie Benjamin and Carolina Castro Cota, who dropped a pair of 8-4 decisions.
