Harutyunyan Moves Into ITA All-American Singles Qualifier

- University of Akron sophomore tennis player Zara Harutyunyan tallied her third singles win in two days to earn a berth in the qualifying singles draw on Sunday in day two of the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
Harutyunyan dealt Florida's Claire Bartlett a 6-3, 6-3 defeat in the pre-qualifying singles round of 16 to advance to the qualifying singles draw of 64. Harutyunyan will face UCLA's Andrea Remynse in Tuesday's round one of the qualifier at a yet to be determined time.
The Riviera is one of three national championship events for collegiate tennis, with the other two being the ITA National Indoor Championships and the NCAA Championships. Harutyunyan is the first-ever UA player to participate in the event.
