Men's Golf Preps For Final Fall Tournament

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron men's golf team will head to Cashiers, N.C. this week to play in the Hummingbird Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Sapphire County. The tournament, hosted by Western Carolina, will be the Zips last of the 2009 season.
A total of 102 individuals will participate in the 18-team event which includes Appalachian State, College of Charleston, East Carolina, Elon, Gardner-Webb, Francis Marion, Furman, High Point, Mercer, Radford, Samford, Vanderbilt, Wofford, Chattanooga, Kentucky and Winthrop.
The 36-hole event to be played on the par-71, 6,797-yard course will begin with a practice round on Sunday, Nov. 1 followed by 18 holes on Monday concluding with the final 18 on Tuesday.
