Zips Finish MAC Championship in Ninth Place

Indianapolis, Ind. - After the completion of
four rounds, the University of Akron men's golf team finished the
2009 Mid-American Conference Championship in ninth place Saturday
carding a 1,203 (312-298-292-301) at the par-72, 6,994-yard
Brickyard Crossing Golf Club.
Placing as high as eighth, freshman Scott Landreth (Stratford, Ontario/St. Michaels Catholic) finished first for the Zips and tied for 15th overall carding a 296 (75-73-71-77).
Junior Jacob Patte (Oshawa, Ontario/Eastdale Collegiate) was steady for UA over the last three rounds carding a 77-75-73-74 (299) finishing in the lone 24th spot while senior David Addison (Stewarton, Scotland/Stewarton Academy) improved one spot from his day two finish into a tie for 33rd posting a 302 (81-73-74-74).
Freshmen Tim Lew (Courtice, Ontario/Courtice
Secondary) and Ryan Mason (Bridgeport, W. Va./Bridgeport)
rounded out the Zips scorecard shooting a 306 (79-77-74-76) and 314
(81-77-78-78) respectively.
Kent State took home the team title carding a 16-under 1,136 (294-280-271-291) while KSU's John Hahn grabbed the individual medal carding a 9-under 279 (71-68-66-74).
