Men's Golf Third at D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate

Normal, Ill. - The University of Akron men's golf team sits third after one round Saturday at the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate hosted by Illinois State University. Halfway through round two, which was suspended due to darkness, the teams will resume round two and play the third and final round Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Central Standard Time.
After the first 18 holes Akron carded a 308 on the par-71, 6,915-yard championship Weibring Golf Club located on ISU's campus. Junior Scott Landreth is the individual leader carding a 73 to sit in a tie for second place. Freshman Drew Czuchry follows tied for 14th with a 77. Senior Lucas Murray and junior Ryan Mason are tied for 32nd place in the 93-player field carding a 79 while freshman Charlie Bull rounds out the field for UA with an 80 tied for 42nd place.
An 18-team tournament, Akron is playing alongside Bradley, De Paul, Creighton, Detroit-Mercy, Drake, Illinois, Iowa State, Louisville, Loyola, Missouri State, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Western Illinois and Illinois State.
