Men's Golf Wraps Up D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate

Normal, Ill. - The University of Akron men's golf team wrapped up the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate Sunday carding three rounds of 308-308-301 (917) at the par-71, 6,915-yard championship Weibring Golf Club located on the Illinois State campus.
"Although we didn't play well this week, the course conditions and weather will certainly help us prepare for our home event next week," said head coach Nick Goetze.
Junior Scott Landreth led the Zips carding a 73-76-71 (220) for a fourth place finish in the 93-player field. Following Landreth was freshman Drew Czuchry with a 224 (77-73-74) who tied for 11th place. Senior Lucas Murray carded a 235 (79-80-76). Junior Ryan Mason and freshman Charlie Bull rounded out the scorecard with a 240 (79-81-80) and 242 (80-79-83)
An 18-team tournament, Akron played alongside Bradley, De Paul, Creighton, Detroit-Mercy, Drake, Illinois, Iowa State, Louisville, Loyola, Missouri State, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Southern Illinois, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Western Illinois and Illinois State.
The Zips will host the Firestone Invitational next Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 11-12) at the world renowned Firestone Country Club.
