Men's Golf Concludes Fall Season with 12th-place Finish

The University of Akron men's golf team closed out its fall schedule with a 12th-place finish at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate at the par-71, 6,767-yard Country Club of Sapphire Valley on Tuesday.
The Zips carded a 5-over 289 on the day to conclude the event with a two-day total of 20-over 588.
Cameron Simmons concluded the event with a round of 1-over 72 to finish tied for 6th place with a total score of 1-under 141 (69-72). Freshman Drew Czuchry moved nearly 30 spots up the leaderboard on day two, carding a round of even-par 71 to finish tied for 33rd place (+5, 147).
Freshman Charlie Bull and senior Lucas Murray began the day in a tie for 73rd place before posting identical rounds of 2-over 73 to finish in a 53rd-place tie at 8-over 150.
Junior Scott Landreth posted a round of 77 (+6) to finish the event tied for 87th place (+14, 156). Sophomore Tim Lew was one of the top individual players in the field, recording a 2-over 73 to finish tied for 42nd (+6, 148).
Akron is off for the winter and will return to action on Feb. 21 at the USA Mobile Bay Intercollegiate in Mobile, Ala.
