Men's Golf Readies For MAC Championship

AKRON, Ohio - The University of Akron men's golf team is prepping for the 2010 Mid-American Conference championship this weekend (April 30-May 2) to be hosted by Kent State at the Longaberger Golf Club in Nashport, Ohio.
The par-72, 7,243-yard course, hosting the championship for the second time in three years, was recently named the top public course in Ohio by both Golf Magazine and Golfweek. The squads will compete in four rounds, two on Friday followed by a single round on Saturday and Sunday.
Coming off a ninth place tie at the Boilermaker Invitational, the Zips carded a 900 (302-291-307) to round out the regular season. Lone senior Jacob Patte led the Zips shooting a 4-over, 220 (76-72-72) in the 66 player field.
