Czuchry Named To Golfweek Top-20 Freshmen To Watch List

Akron, Ohio - Men's golf incoming freshman Drew Czuchry was recently named to Golfweek's 2010 top-20 Freshmen To Watch list. Joining the Zips with a prestigious resume, Czuchry came out of his prep career ranked 26th in the nation and eighth in the 2010 class, along with a first place ranking in Georgia for the 2010 Class according to the American Junior Golf Association Polo national rankings.
Strong in competition, Czuchry possesses 13 top five finishes in prominent junior golf events including a fourth place tie at the AJGA Rolex Tournament of Champions in 2010. Finishing in the Top-10 in over half of the events played during his junior golf career between 2006 and 2010, Czuchry went seven for seven on the Georgia PGA Junior Tour in 2008 and eight for nine on the Georgia PGA Junior Tour in 2007.
Named the the Golfweek National Boy's Junior Player of the Week on May 17, 2010, Czuchry was also a two-time Georgia PGA Junior Tour Player of the Year in 2007 and 2008.
Czuchry and the Zips will begin their 2010-11 campaign this weekend traveling to Cambridge, Md. for the Maryland Intercollegiate which will feature 13 other teams including Francis Marion, George Mason, George Washington, James Madison, Navy, UNC-Wilmington, Old Dominion, Penn, Penn State, South Carolina - Aiken, Toledo, William & Mary and Xavier.
