Men's Golf Heads to Kettering, Ohio, for UD Fall Invitational

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron men's golf team will close out the fall slate on Monday when it travels to Kettering, Ohio, for the 2011 UD Fall Invitational at the par-71, 7,055-yard NCR South Course.
The two-day, 36-hole event will begin on Monday with a shotgun start at 11 a.m. ET. The invitational will conclude on Tuesday with a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start for the second and final round.
The field includes Butler, Cincinnati State Tech, Dayton, Detroit, Evansville, IPFW, IUPUI, Malone, Oakland, Ohio, Owens Community College, Robert Morris, Valparaiso, Western Kentucky, Wright State and Youngstown State.
The Zips are coming off a tie for eighth place at The Firestone Invitational on Oct. 11 at Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio. Sophomore Charlie Bull carded his fourth top-12 finish of the fall and seventh-consecutive top-16 finish dating back to the spring thanks to his three-round score of 6-under 210. He closed out the event in a tie for third place.
For his performance, Bull earned his second-consecutive golfer of the week honor. For the season, he has scored under par in five of his last six rounds and has closed out rounds at even par or better in eight of 12 rounds. He is carrying a team-best 71.08 scoring average and has not finished outside the top-16 since the Rio Pinar Invitational on March 14-15, 2010.
