Tennis Wraps Up Day One of Singles Play at Midwest Regional

URBANA, Ill. – University of Akron tennis players Angelika Jogasuria and Ksenia Berestetska each advanced to the qualifying singles round of 32 before being eliminated from the bracket at the USTA/ITA Midwest Regional Championships on Thursday at University of Illinois' Atkins Tennis Center.
Jogasuria defeated Ohio State's Grainne O'Neill 6-3, 6-7 (6), 6-2 to move into the round of 32 where she lost 6-1, 6-1 to DePaul's Ana Vladutu. Berestetska enjoyed a bye out of the round of 48 before losing 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 to Detroit's Valeriya Kulikouskaya.
Competition in the doubles main draw is scheduled to get underway on Friday at 3 p.m. ET. UA's Angelika Jogasuria will team with Madison Cohen and Prang Pantusart will partner with Angelina Jogasuria.
