CLEVELAND – University of Akron senior golfer Cameron Simmons was named Academic All-MAC Honorable Mention, the Mid-American Conference office announced on Wednesday.
Simmons was named Academic All-MAC for the second time after also earning Honorable Mention last season.
Simmons, majoring in political science and international business with a 3.253 GPA, appeared in all 11 events for the Zips this past season. He posted a 77.47 scoring average over 30 rounds and earned one top-25 finish.
Simmons posted the third-lowest round for the Zips this season, firing a round of 3-under 69 during the second round of the Boilermaker Invitational. He also helped the Zips to a fourth-place finish at the MAC Championship earlier this month.
