J.B. Williams Leads Men's Golf During Day One of Golfweek Program Challenge

PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. – The University of Akron men's golf team sits in 10th place after round one of the Golfweek Program Challenge at the True Blue Golf Club.
The Zips posted a round of 2-over 290 on the day as Valparaiso grabbed the day-one lead with a score of 15-under 273.
J.B. Williams led the way for Akron, posting a 3-under 69 and is tied for eighth place overall. Dating back to last year's event, Williams is 10-under par at True Blue, posting scores of par or better for all four rounds.
Harry Whittle and Zach Gollwitzer are tied for 37th place after carding rounds of 1-over 73.
Louis Birchall is tied for 46th place after posting a round of 3-over 75 while Ryan Harris rounded out the scoring five in a tie for 51st place (76, +4).
The Zips will open round two on Monday, with tee times set to begin at 8:25 a.m. ET from the 10th tee. Fans can follow all three rounds via Golfstat Live Scoring.
