J.B. Williams Post Top-10 Finish at 59th Eastern Amateur

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – J.B. Williams posted a top-10 finish while Chandler Morgan finished in a tie for 70th place at the 59th Eastern Amateur at the Elizabeth Manor Golf & Country Club.
Rain on Saturday cut the event from 72 holes to 54 holes.
Williams posted a final-round 1-over 71 to finish in a three-way tie for eighth place (206, -4). He bogeyed two of his first four holes and was at four-over through 12 holes, but birdied three of the final six holes for a strong finish to the round.
James Clark and Danny Yustin finished tied for the lead with 54-hole scores of 12-under 198, with Clark winning the event on the second playoff hole.
Williams opened the event with a round of 1-under 69. After making the turn at 2-under, he added a birdie on No. 10 to move to 3-under before double-bogeying No. 18.
Morgan posted a final-round 7-over 77 to finish with a 54-hole tally of 220 (+10).
The Eastern Amateur has been played every year since 1957.
