19 Zips Garner Academic All-MAC Outdoor Track and Field Accolades

2025 MEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD ACADEMIC ALL-MAC RELEASE | 2025 WOMEN'S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD ACADEMIC ALL-MAC RELEASE
CLEVELAND, Ohio – The University of Akron men's and women's track and field team earned 19 selections when the Mid-American Conference released its 2025 Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Academic All-MAC Team.
In all, 238 student-athletes from 12 conference institutions were honored including redshirt senior Hunter Garretson (Newcomerstown, Ohio), seniors Cassidy Allen (Lakewood, N.Y.), Kayla Allen (Lakewood, N.Y.), Grace Henderson (Rostraver Township, Pa.), Adaeze Nwokike (Benin City, Nigeria), Joy Nwokike (Benin City, Nigeria), Emily Razo (Salem ,Ohio), Halle Sebest (Poland, Ohio) and Ruth Webb (Akron, Ohio), juniors Vanessa Horn (Ludwigsfelde, Germany) and Benjamin Hudak (Tallmadge, Ohio) and sophomores Majid Abuaun (Rocky River, Ohio), Mason Birch (Strongsville, Ohio), Megan Hipple (Warren, Ohio), Ryan Kamperman (Salem, Ohio), Jessica Mason (Holland, Ohio), Rebecca Strunk (Mount Perry, Ohio), Kayla Sucharski (Galena, Ohio) and Christopher Vance (Parma, Ohio)
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport and have been at residence at their school for one year. True freshman and first-year transfer student-athletes are not eligible.
