No. 21 Akron Opens Preseason Camp for 2025 Campaign

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron men's soccer squad under the leadership of 13th-year head coach Jared Embick opened its preseason preparations for the 2025 campaign on Tuesday, Aug. 5, as the squad went through the Zips' first training session of the season.
The squad welcomed 15 newcomers to the fold as the No. 21 Zips went through a 90-minute training session on the Shrank Practice Field.
The Zips will commence the 2025 campaign at VCU on Aug. 21 before opening their home season welcoming Northern Kentucky to FirstEnergy Stadium on Aug. 24.
Five of the Zips' 2025 opponents are rated in the preseason top-25 led by No. 1 Vermont, No. 3 Ohio State, No. 16 West Virginia, No. 20 Western Michigan and No. 22 Cornell.
Akron will host preseason exhibitions versus St. Bonaventure, West Virginia Tech and Detroit Mercy on Aug. 9, 13 and 15, respectively. Matches will kick off at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively.
Season tickets are now on sale. Fans with questions about new or existing season tickets for the 2025 campaign may call or email (tickets@uakron.edu) the C.P. and Cornelia S. Chima Athletics Ticket Office at 1-888-99-AKRON (25766) or visit the office at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Health Field (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue) Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
