Thomas O'Rourke Named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week

AKRON, Ohio — Thomas O'Rourke has been named to Top Drawer Soccer's Team of the Week after his outstanding performances against then-No. 18 Cornell and Saint Louis.

Against the Big Red, O'Rourke scored in the 55th minute to tie the score at 2-2 which was his first goal of the season. Then with 59 seconds left, O'Rourke assisted on Leo Morana's game-winning goal. Later in the week on the road against the Billikens in an NCAA Quarterfinal rematch from last season, the redshirt sophomore delivered by assisting on Jack Roman's game-winning goal in the 84th minute. So far this season, O'Rourke leads the Zips in assists (3) and points (5).

Additionally, O'Rourke was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his efforts in both matches.

The Zips — who moved up to No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches and No. 2 in the Top Drawer Soccer polls — will face Butler in their BIG EAST opener on Friday, September 18 at 7 p.m. at FirstEnergy Stadium.
