Abigael Kiplagat took fourth for the Zips at WMU's George Dales Invitational.
Jebitok, Zips Women's Cross Country Win George Dales Invitational

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Mercy Jebitok took the crown at Western Michigan's George Dales Invitational, and the Akron women's cross country also won the 6K meet as a team.
The Zips scored 37 points in the 13-team meet, besting second-place Bowling Green by a margin of 29 points at The Prairies Golf Club — the same site of this year's MAC Championships.
Making her season debut, the junior Jebitok hit a new personal-best mark of 19:52.1. It also marked her second career cross country win, with her first one coming at the Joe Piane Invitational in 2025. Last season, she finished runner-up at the MAC Championships, sixth at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional and 131st at the NCAA Championships.
Fresh off a victory at the Tommy Evans Invitational, Megan Hipple took second in a time of 20:01.8 for her personal-best as well. Abigael Kiplagat was fourth (21:09.4), while Kennedy Schlessman placed 13th (21:41.1, PR) to round out the top 15.
Kayla Sucharski finished 17th (21:48.5, PR), and Madeline Grant took 35th (22:21.2) for the Zips.
