Tim Servis is in his first season as the Head Cross Country and Assistant Track and Field coach for The University of Akron track and field program after being named to the post in August 2025.
Servis comes to Akron after serving as the Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country coach and Assistant Track and Field coach for the men’s and women’s programs at Colby Community College a season ago.

He mentored a trio of NJCAA All-America honors in 2025 at Colby. He helped Colby garner a 13th-place women’s and 19th-place women’s finishes at the 2025 NJCAA Indoor Nationals, including All-America honors in the men’s 5,000 meters and women’s 800 and 1,000 meters. During the outdoor campaign, Colby placed 13th and 14th, respectively, at the NJCAA Outdoor Nationals in the women’s and men’s team competitions. His athletes captured All-America accolades in the men’s 5,000 and 10,000 meters and the women’s 800 and 1,500 meters.

A veteran of nearly two decades of collegiate coaching experience, a strong track record of building competitive programs, including 39 top three team finishes, and a passion for developing student-athletes on and off the course, Servis arrived at Colby after a decorated coaching career at Southern Arkansas.

Servis led the men’s and women’s cross country programs at NCAA Division II Southern Arkansas from 2010 to 2024. During his tenure, he not only revitalized the cross country teams but also played a key role in reestablishing the outdoor track and field program in 2014 and launching the school’s indoor track and field teams in 2022. His 2018 squad won the Great America Conference men’s outdoor track and field title.

Prior to his time at Southern Arkansas, Servis was a student assistant coach while pursuing his master’s degree at Central Arkansas from 2008–2010. He also held head coaching roles at Lyon College (2005–2007) and served as interim cross country coach at Conway High School.

A native of Camden, Maine, Servis earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of the Ozarks and his master’s from the University of Central Arkansas.
