Zips Athletics Prepared for Action Packed Saturday

AKRON, Ohio -Â An action-packed day full of University of Akron Athletics awaits Zips' fans on Saturday, April 27 as football, softball and baseball will all be in action, starting at 1 p.m.

Admission and parking are free for fans to attend Saturday's festivities. Fans are encouraged to park in the lots 8, 9 or 10 surrounding InfoCision Stadium and the Stile Athletics Field House located off Spicer Street.Â

Football will hold its annual Blue and White Spring game at 3 p.m. with gates 1 & 2 at InfoCision Stadium opening at 2 p.m. Fans attending the Spring Game can enjoy concessions with a limited menu located at stand 4 throughout the event. In addition, the team shop located at InfoCision stadium will be open during the game (2-5 p.m.).

Due to the ever-changing landscape of collegiate athletics and an eye towards student-athlete safety, Saturday's spring game will mimic the standard spring scrimmages that the Zips have conducted the past several weeks. The format features a controlled practice in which teams will not be separated into the traditional Blue and White teams to maintain consistency and safety protocol for our student-athletes.Â

The softball team kicks the day off with the Zips' series finale on Senior Day against Central Michigan at 1 p.m. at Lee R. Jackson Field, while Akron baseball battles Western Michigan at 1:05 p.m. at Skeeles Field. In addition, the Zips softball team will be honoring its four seniors at the conclusion of its game with the Chippewas in Senior Day festivities.

Football 2024 season tickets are available now by calling or texting the Akron ticket office at 888-99-AKRON (25766) or visiting The C.P. and Cornelia S. Chima Athletics Ticket Office at InfoCision Stadium (located at 375 E. Exchange Street, near Gate 1 at the southwest corner of the venue, at the corner of E. Exchange and S. Union streets) Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
