GREENSBORO, NC - The Akron Zips rallied from down 4-1 in the seventh inning to knock off the N.C. A&T Aggies 5-4 Sunday.

At the plate, the Zips were led by Blake Bowen, who went 1-for-2 on the day with three walks. Kyle McConachie recorded a double and an RBI. Brennan Morgan added two walks and an RBI. Tucker Biehl had two hits, while Gio Melchione added a hit and RBI in the win.

Trieg Matthews went 5.1 innings out of the pen to help the Zips capture the win. He allowed no hits or runs while striking out five and walking one.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Zips got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the top of the first inning. Bowen came across to score the lone run of the inning for Akron and get them on the board.

The Aggies then rallied to score four runs and take a 4-1 lead before the Zips got back on the board in the eighth. The Akron offense exploded for four runs, highlighted by a one-run walk off the bat of Morgan, which brought the score to 5-4 in favor of the Zips. The score remained 5-4 for the rest of the game, as Akron held on for the win.
