Avery Book Named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-America® Football Team

AUSTIN, Texas - After a standout season for the Akron Football team, graduate punter Avery Book was named to the 2024 Academic All-America® football team selected by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday.
Book becomes the first member of the football team to be named a CSC Academic All-American since 2016 when Zach Guiser and James Turner both earned the honor.
He was one of nine members of the Academic All-America® Division I football teams to boast a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in their undergraduate or graduate work.
Serving as the primary punter, Book unleashed 65 punts with 20 punts of 50 or more yards. He pinned the opposition inside the 20-yard line 21 times. Book posted a season-long 61 yards against South Carolina. In the MAC, Book ranked first in average punt yards (43.4) and 50+ yard punts (20). He was second in league play for punts inside the 20-yard line (21) and total punting yards (2,093). In the NCAA, he ranked 33rd in average punt yards (43.4).
