Hezri, Chandra Mohan Lead Zips at Rio Verde

Rio Verde, Ariz. – Junior Maisarah Hezri and freshman Sohniya Chandra Mohan posted even par scores to open the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational, entering second 18-hole round ranked inside the Top 10 at the Rio Verde White Wing Course.
Hezri recorded 16 par scores en route to the 72 even-par 18-hole ledger, while Chandra Mohan carded 13 par scores with three birdies, a bogey and double bogey. Hezri mixed in a birdie and bogey on her scorecard.
The Zips currently rank tied at 11th of 21 teams with 36 holes to play. Akron posted a 302 (+14) team tally as juniors Hridhika Vora and Emily Liptak contributed 79 (+7) scores and junior Avery Wright registered an 82 (+10) opening round total.
Akron is scheduled to start the second 18-hole round at 2 p.m. ET with Chandra Mohan (1A), Vora (1B), Hezri (2), Wright (3A) and Liptak (3B).
All 54 holes will be played on the 6,024-yard par 72 Rio Verde White Wing Course. Fans can follow the action live at Scoreboard powered by Clippd.
