Akron Finishes Tied for Fourth at Butler Fall Invitational

Chandra Mohan leads Zips with sixth-place finish
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Akron women's golf team wrapped up play at the Butler Fall Invitational with a tie for fourth place, posting a 54-hole team score of 892 (+52) at Highland Country Club.
Akron entered Tuesday's final round in fifth place after opening the tournament with rounds of 302 (+22) and 294 (+14). The Zips closed the event with a 310 (+30) to move into a tie for fourth in the 14-team field.
Sohniya Chandra Mohan led the way for Akron, securing a top-10 finish after carding a final-round 71 (+1). Mohan made four birdies during Tuesday's round, including three on the back nine, to finish tied for sixth overall at 217 (+7) with rounds of 74-72-71. Her 1-over final round was Akron's lowest score of the day.
Goethe Na Songkhla finished tied for 21st after a final-round 75 (+5). She completed the tournament at 223 (+13)following rounds of 72-76-75.
Thitirat Silakham and Amara Montoya finished tied for 31st at 227 (+17). Both Zips posted rounds of 75 (+5) on Tuesday after each entered the final round at 152 (+12).
Kaitlin Kormuth rounded out Akron's scoring five with a final-round 76 (+6), finishing tied for 45th at 230 (+20).
Competing as an individual, Katrin Horn Danielsdottir recorded her best round of the tournament Tuesday, firing a 74 (+4). Danielsdottir made back-to-back birdies on hole 1 and 2 and finished the event at 240 (+30).
