Brown Earns All-MAC WBB Accolades

CLEVELAND, Ohio - University of Akron women's basketball redshirt senior Shelbee Brown (Memphis, Tenn.) garnered Third-Team All-Mid-American Conference women's basketball accolades when the league unveiled its 2024-25 award winners on Tuesday (March 11).
Brown played in all 31 of the Zips' games this season, including 27 starts, en route to earning All-MAC recognition for the first time on the strength of posting team-high marks in scoring (14.0), rebounding (8.9), free throws made (119), free throws attempted (174) and steals (72), while ranking third on the team in field goal percentage (.461) and fourth in assists (40) and blocks (12). She scored in double figures in 22 of 31 contests this season, including tallying 15 or more points in 14 games, and led the Zips in scoring and rebounding 14 and 21 times, respectively. In league-only affairs, she averaged 16.4 points and 9.4 rebounds, while shooting more than 45 percent (.453) from the field.
Brown averaged nearly a double-double in league play scoring 16.44 points to go along with 9.44 rebounds per contest. She rates third in the MAC in offensive rebounds (2.90) and in steals (2.32), fourth in rebounding (8,87), fifth in defensive rebounds (5.97) and ninth in scoring (13.97). In league-only affairs, she ranked fourth in the MAC in fourth in offensive rebounding (3.39) and in rebounding (9.44), fourth in steals (2.28), sixth in defensive rebounding (6.06) and seventh in scoring (16.44).
She is rated 34th in the NCAA in free throw attempts (174), 43rd in steals (72) and 55th in rebounds (275).
