Schnupp Set to Compete at NCAA Rifle Championships

AKRON, Ohio - Rewarded for the University of Akron rifle team's success this season, redshirt senior Erin Schnupp (Gorham, Maine) will culminate her campaign on the biggest stage competing in the smallbore at the NCAA Rifle Championships, on Friday (March 14) in Lexington, Ky.
Schnupp will commence the smallbore competition at 12 p.m. on Friday at Memorial Coliseum on the campus of Kentucky. The top eight finishers after the morning relay will advance to the finals at 2 p.m.
Schnupp earned her first career NCAA Championship berth and becomes the seventh Zip to qualify as an at-large individual selection. She joins redshirt senior Gavin Perkowski (Bolivar, Ohio) (2024), Andre Gross (2022, 2020, 2019), Kayla Andreoli (2021), Matt Chezem (2015), Sarah Benjamin (2010) and Jenna Compton (2009).
Schnupp has registered a team-best 585.75 average on the campaign in the smallbore, while posting a 1173.31 average in the combined disciplines and a 587.56 mark in the air rifle. Earlier this season, she established a program-record 20-shot kneeling smallbore mark of 199 (16) as part of a personal-best smallbore mark of 589 versus UT Martin on Oct. 11, 2024. Additionally, she set a personal combined record total of 1180 against John Jay on Oct. 19, 2024.
The NCAA Championships, March 14-15, will conclude the 2024-25 campaign for the Zips.
