2025 Akron Football Schedule Released

AKRON, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference unveiled its football schedule for the 2025 season as Akron under the direction of fourth-year head coach Joe Moorhead is set to play eight MAC games, including four at InfoCision Stadium, the league announced on Wednesday.
Akron will kick off its 2025 campaign at InfoCision Stadium-Summa Field on Thursday, August 28 against Wyoming.
After the home opener, the Zips season will continue with a pair of road games against Nebraska (Sat, Sept. 6) and UAB (Sat, Sept. 13) before returning to Akron to play Duquesne on Saturday, Sept. 20.
Akron kicks off league action on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Toledo before welcoming Central Michigan to InfoCision Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 4 for the MAC home opener. The Zips will be at home again the following week against Miami (Sat. Oct. 11).
Back-to-back road tilts follow at Ball State and Buffalo before the Zips get into the midweek #MACtion portion of the schedule.
On Tuesday, Nov. 4 the Zips host Umass followed by a home game against rival Kent State. Akron is scheduled to defend back-to-back (2023 and 2024) Wagon Wheel victories on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
Akron rounds out its regular season on the road against Bowling Green on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The MAC will release an updated schedule later this spring with game times and television for the first three weeks of the regular season and its midweek #MACtion schedule. All remaining game times and television will be announced 12 days prior to the scheduled game. Games will air on ESPN platforms (ESPN/ESPN2/ESPNU/ESPN+/ESPN3) and CBS Sports Network.
The new MAC scheduling model eliminates the MAC East and West Divisions. The top-two teams based on conference winning percentage will compete in the MAC Football Championship Game at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich.
This new model will allow for each team to face all 11 conference opponents home and away at least once during a three-year cycle. Additionally, the new format will incorporate protected opponents based on geographic location and rivalries.
