Cody Head Joins Akron Men's Basketball For 2025-26

AKRON, Ohio – Cody Head, a transfer from Arkansas State, will join the Akron Zips men's basketball program for the 2025-26 season, head coach John Groce announced Monday, April 28.
"We are excited to announce the addition of Cody to our program," said Groce. "Cody is a playmaker with high character who loves the game. We look forward to him joining his future teammates on campus in June."
Head, who played for the Red Wolves last season, saw action in 19 games while starting one. At Arkansas State, he averaged 6.2 minutes and 2.5 points per game while recording a season-high nine points, eight assists and 24 minutes against Lane on Nov. 22, 2024.
Prior to his lone season in Jonesboro, Ark., Head played at Lipscomb where he was named to the ASUN All-Freshman team. While with the Bisons, Head played in 31 games where he averaged 8.3 points per game, scoring in double-figures in 13 games and recorded a career-high 21 points against Austin Peay on Feb. 24, 2024.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Head played at Lutheran High School East before committing to Lipscomb.
