Akron Men's Basketball Set to Compete in the Paradise Jam in November

AKRON, Ohio - The Akron men's basketball team will be one of eight teams to compete in the 2025 U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam in St. Thomas from November 21-24.
The Zips will be joined by the College of Charleston, Evansville, Green Bay, Iona, Oregon State, UMass, and Yale.Â
"We are excited to take our team to the Paradise Jam in the US Virgin Islands," said Head Coach John Groce. "Having the opportunity to compete against a quality field early in the season was a priority for us in scheduling. I hope you can join us in the Virgin Islands and cheer on your Zips!"
Akron faced Yale last season at the Don Haskins Sun Bowl Invitation in El Paso, Texas, while UMass will be joining the Mid-American Conference for the 2025-26 season.
The Eldridge Blake Sports and Fitness Center on the campus of the University of the Virgin Islands will be the host facility for the event.
