DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Akron women's soccer team fell 3-0 at Dayton on Friday (Sept. 12) at Baujan Field.
How it Happened
The Zips went toe-to-toe with the Flyers in the opening half before Dayton broke the scoreless draw with a goal in the 41st minute (40:25) from Lauren Contini. The Flyers added another tally just over two minutes later at the 42:31 mark to assume a 2-0 advantage at the intermission.
The Zips were unable to find their offensive rhythm in the second half as the Flyers added a goal in the 83rd minute (82:20) to finalize the 3-0 margin.
Junior GK Sara Bower (Cincinnati, Ohio)Â led Akron with nine saves. The Zips registered six shots in the loss, led by three from junior Jordanne Oberhaus (Wadsworth, Ohio). Akron faced 23 Dayton shots, 12 of them on goal.
