Men's Soccer Heads to Windy City to Take On DePaul
October 01 | Men's Soccer
AKRON, Ohio — The Akron men's soccer team will head to the Windy City to face DePaul on Friday, October 2 at 4 p.m. eastern time.
The Zips (5-1-2) are coming off a 3-1 loss to Georgetown in a ranked BIG EAST matchup, and the Blue Demons (2-1-4) tied against Xavier, 1-1, back on September 18. DePaul was supposed to play a match at Seton Hall on September 26, but inclement weather on the East Coast forced both schools to reschedule to a later date.
Akron has had 12 different players find the back of the net this season, with Thomas O'Rourke, Jack Sullivan and Noa Testa notching multiple goals. The team has registered 143 shots on the year — eighth most in Division I.
The Blue Demons also boast a high-shot offense, with 16.43 per game which is right behind Akron for second-most in the BIG EAST. Noeh Hernandez leads the way with five goals and four assists.
Akron has never lost to DePaul, as they are 4-0 all-time against the Blue Demons. Last season, they defeated DePaul, 3-2, and won, 4-0, in 2024 in their lone trip to Chicago.
