Akron Completes Opening Day at Bettie Lou Evans Invitational

LEXINGTON, KY – The University of Akron women's golf team completed the opening 36 holes of the Bettie Lou Evans Invitational on Monday at the University Club of Kentucky's Big Blue Course.
The Zips posted rounds of 312 (+24) and 301(+13) for a 36-hole total of 613(+37) , placing Akron 13th heading into Tuesday's final round.
Kaitlin Kormuth paced the Zips through the opening two rounds, carding both rounds of 77+5 for a 154 (+10) total. She enters the final 18 holes tied for 43rd place on the individual leaderboard.
Chandra Mohan followed at 151(+13) , while Silakham finished Monday at 153(+15). Montoya and Na Songkhla rounded out Akron's scoring lineup.
The Bettie Lou Evans Invitational concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes. The field is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start.
