KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Akron women's soccer team wrapped up their season against Western Michigan, as they dropped to the MAC regular season champions, 4-1.

The Broncos got their first goal just three minutes into the match and added another 13 minutes later to take a 2-0 advantage.

Olivia Pilato notched the Zips' lone goal 22 seconds before the half ended off a pass from Jordanne Oberhaus to cut the deficit to one at the intermission.

However, WMU tacked on their final two goals in the 64th and 81st minutes.

The Broncos outshot the Zips, 22-8, and only allowed Akron three total shots in the second half.

Sara Bower ended with five saves and 87 on the season — fourth most in a single season in program history and most since 2018.

Akron ended their 2026 campaign with a 7-7-4 overall record, their highest win total since 2019. They also won three matches in MAC play, the most since 2020.
