Boes and Hipple Garner MAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week Honors

MAC TRACK AND FIELD ATHLETES OF THE WEEK RELEASE
CLEVELAND, Ohio - University of Akron junior Megan Hipple (Warren, Ohio) and redshirt senior Brook Boes (Tiffin, Ohio) were recognized by the Mid-American Conference as its women's Track and Field Athletes of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday (Feb. 10).

Boes was honored as the MAC Field Athlete of the Week after capturing both the women's shot put and weight throw at the Doug Raymond Invitational this past weekend. She won the weight throw with a mark of 65-5 (19.94m), while besting the field in the shot put with a mark of 46-8.75 (14.24m). She leads the MAC in both events and is rated No. 33 and No. 42 in the NCAA in the weight throw and shot put.Â

Hipple was named the MAC Track Athlete of the Week on the strength of winning the women's 3,000 meters at the Windy City Invitational on the heels of running a school-record time of 9:17.94. It also marked the No. 2 effort in the MAC this season.
