Zips Fall to No. 14 NC State

RALEIGH, NC --The Akron Zips had a tough showing on Wednesday, falling to the No. 14 NC State Wolfpack by final score of 18-3.
Offensively, the Zips were paced by Brody Chrisman, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a home run and an RBI. Atticus Huffstutler furnished a standout effort as well, going 1-for-1 with a double. Mitchel Szymczak also contributed for Akron, putting together one hit in two trips to the plate while adding a double.
Jeremiah Newman (0-1) got the ball to start for Akron (3-6) and took the loss.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Zips were trailing 8-0 in the fifth inning when they first put runs on the board. The Zips were unable to get any closer, as NC State added 10 runs to their tally on the way to an 18-3 final.
