Shannon, Ala. – The Akron Zips recorded a 308 (+20) team score for the first 18-hole round at the 2026 Chris Banister Golf Classic, placing sixth overall on the team leaderboard as Maisarah Hezri and Sohniya Chandra Mohan led the Way for the Zips on Sunday.
Hezri recorded four birdies en route to a 2-over par 74 performance. She also collected eight par scores on her first round at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail Silver Lakes (Par 72 • 6,214 yards).
Chandra Mohan followed with a 76 (+4) ledger with 12 par scores and two birdies, while Kaitlin Kormuth, Goethe Na Songkhla and Emily Liptak all registered 79 (+7) scores.
Hezri is currently ranked 12th on the players' leaderboard followed by Chandra Mohan at 21st and the trio of Kormuth, Na Songkhla and Liptak tied at 44th overall.
The Chris Banister Golf Classic continues on Monday as the second round Is scheduled for a 9:30 a.m. start from holes No. 1 and 10 with Akron teeing of on No. 1 with Kormuth leading the way at 9:30 a.m. followed by Liptak (9:39), Na Songkhla (9:48), Chandra Mohan (9:57) and Hezri (10:06).
