Brady Bowen and Prince DeBoskie Combine for Seven Hits in Loss to Kent State

AKRON, Ohio - Brady Bowen and Prince DeBoskie combined for seven hits in an 8-4 loss to Kent State to open the series.
Brady Bowen led the Zips with a 4-for-5 day. DeBoskie went 3-for-5 with a double. Easton Amundson and Brody Chrisman both hit home runs for the Zips in the loss.
Floyd McKenna (1-2) came out of the bullpen for Akron (20-26, 10-15) and took the loss. Landon Vandegrift was a bright spot for the Zips, coming out of the bullpen as well and throwing two shutout innings, allowing no hits, with no walks and one strikeout.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 2-0, the Zips first put runs on the board in the second inning. Akron got on the board thanks to Tucker Biehl's RBI double with two outs.
The Zips kept the Golden Flashes off the board before taking the lead in the third. Akron scored three times, with an output that included home runs from both Brody Chrisman and Easton Amundson, which brought the score to 4-2 in favor of the Zips. The Zips were unable to hold the lead, as Kent State scored six times over the remaining six innings to grab the 8-4 win.
