ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The University of Akron track and field team continued its quest to garner NCAA East Preliminary Round qualifying marks on Friday (May 8) as the Zips competed at the Len Paddock Open.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
• Redshirt senior Owen Wendl (Medina, Ohio) placed second in the men's shot put with a mark of 58-8.75 (17.90m).
• Redshirt senior Brook Boes (Tiffin, Ohio) recorded a career-best throw of 195-2 (59.49m) to finish second in the women's hammer.

UP NEXT:
The Zips compete at the West Virginia Last Chance Meet in Morgantown, W.Va., on Saturday (May 9).
