Indoor: ran 4:24.12 in the mile at the Zips Open (Feb. 15) ... completed the 3,000-meters in 8:43.61 at the SPIRE D1 Invitational (Feb. 9).

at Walsh Jesuit HS: Placed eighth individually at the state cross country championships on a regional-championship team that finished third overall ... also finished eighth at the Mid-East Championship ... placed fourth at the state meet in the 3,200-meters ... ran top times of 4:22 in the 1,600-meters and 9:23 in the 3,200.

Personal: Parents are Michael Howkins and Erin Ritchie ... has three older brothers; Joe, Damion and Noah, who is a member of the cross country team at Ohio University ... has three uncles and two aunts who attended UA on athletic scholarships ... two other uncles, Josh and Shannan Ritchie, were all-American runners at Ohio University ... intends to major in biomedical engineering.
