Akron native Regan Nickol joined The University of Akron volleyball program as an assistant coach ahead of the 2025 season.

Nickol most recently served as an assistant coach at Robert Morris University, working with all position groups with a focus on serve receive and defense. She also managed team travel and day-to-day logistics.

Prior to RMU, Nickol served as a graduate assistant coach at Ohio Dominican University. During her two seasons with the Panthers, she helped lead the team to its first-ever appearance in the G-MAC Championship. Her primary coaching responsibilities included setter and middle training, and she earned her MBA during that time.

Before Ohio Dominican, she played at Ursuline College for three seasons. At UC, she was voted team captain her senior season and was a part of the Academic All-Conference team, SAAC volleyball, and Ursuline College representative for three years.

Nickol has also been active in the club volleyball scene for several years. She has coached with NOVA Juniors in Akron across six seasons, and is currently overseeing setter development.
