Noblesville, Ind. – The University of Akron women's golf team wrapped-up the Fall season with a 223 (+7), fourth-place finish as senior Danielle Nicholson (Geneva, Ohio) and junior Allyson Wentworth (Stewartsville, N.J.) landed in the Top 15 at the Fall MAC Preview hosted by Central Michigan at the Purgatory Golf Club.

The Zips completed the event with a 298-296-313 – 907 (+43) tournament total led by Nicholson's ninth-place performance. Nicholson fired rounds of 74 (+2), 73 (+1) and 76 (+4) for a 223 (+7) total. She climbed four spots on the final 18 holes to finish in the Top 10, while Wentworth moved-up one slot to finish tied at 12^th.Wentworth carded scores of 75-72-79 – 226 (+10) for the Top 15 showing.

Senior Makayla Dull (Fremont, Ohio) and sophomore Abbie Pearce (Green, Ohio) followed in scoring for Akron with a pair of 229 (+13) performances as both golfers finished tied for 23^rd overall. Rounding out Akron's scoring was freshman Ivana Shah (Mumbai, India) with a 245 (+29) ledger.

Xavier turned a one-stroke deficit into a two-stroke advantage to claim the team championship over the 12-team field. The Musketeers recorded a 291-284-308 – 883 (+19), while Toledo earned runner-up 288-286-311 - 885 (+21). The Rockets' Natcha Daengpiem claimed medalist honors with a 4-under par 71-66-75 – 212 and CMU's Bria Colosky claimed runner-up with a 74-70-71 – 215 (-1).

The Fall MAC Preview concluded the 2018 Fall season, and the Zips will be back in action on Sunday through Tuesday, Feb. 3-5 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. At the Royal Lakes Course.
