Akron, Ohio – The Akron Zips women's golf team will be back in action on Saturday and Sunday, April 7-8, at the Dolores Black Invitational hosted by Bowling Green at Stone Ridge Golf Course in Bowling Green, Ohio.
""We are excited about returning back to Bowling Green," Zips' head coach Jenny King said. "It will be another great test to prepare us for the MAC Championship with a mostly MAC heavy field and some cold conditions."
The two-day, 36-hole tournament is scheduled to be played at the par-72 Stone Ridge course that spans 5, 829 yards. The 16-team field features host Bowling Green, Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Cleveland State, Detroit, Eastern Michigan, Findlay, Illinois-Chicago, Indianapolis, Lawrence, Oakland, Ohio, Toledo, Western Michigan, and Youngstown State.
Akron's starting five includes junior Danielle Nicholson (Geneva, Ohio), freshman Jacinta Pikunas (Youngstown, Ohio), freshman Abbie Pearce (Green, Ohio), sophomore Allyson Wentworth (Stewartsville, N.J.), and senior Pader Her (Holt, Mich.).
On Saturday, the tournament is slated to begin with a shotgun start at noon and Sunday's final round is scheduled for an 11 a.m. shotgun start. Fans can follow the action via GolfStat Live Scoring.
