Bowling Green, Ohio – The Akron Zips women's golf team climbed four spots to finished runner-up as freshman Jennifer David (Hudson, Ohio) claimed top individual honors at the Dolores Black Falcon Invite on Sunday.

During Sunday's final round, the Zips fired a 304 (+16) team total at the par-72 Stone Ridge Golf Club that stretches 5,829 yards. Akron finished the 36-hole event with a 615 (+39) team ledger paced by David's even par 144-stroke performance. David carded a 1-under 71 final round score mixed with her previous round 73 (+1) total.

On the final day of competition, David collected 13 par scores and three birdies en route to climbing four spots to claim the individual title. She won the event by two strokes with 22 pars, seven birdies and seven bogeys.

In addition to David's first collegiate win, the Zips saw two additional players in the field's Top 20 as sophomore Ivana Shah (Mumbai, India) and freshmen Jessica Hahn (Canton, Ohio) finished tied at 17^th overall. Shah registered a pair of 77 (+5) rounds for a 10-over par 154 tournament total, while Hahn recorded scores of 79 (+7) and 75 (+3) for a 154 total.

Rounding out the team scoring were junior Abbie Pearce (Green, Ohio) and sophomore Jacinta Pikunas (Youngstown, Ohio) with 164 (+20) ledgers. Both, Pearce and Pikunas finished 64^th overall. In addition, freshman Riley Dean (Lewis Center, Ohio) carded a 173 (+29) as an individual.

Ball State won the team championship with 301-304 – 605 (+29) tournament total while host Bowling Green shared runner-up honors with Akron with a 294-321 – 615 (+39) total. No. 45 ranked Tiffin finished tied at fourth overall with Toledo at 619 (+43).

Akron will be back in action at its home course Portage Country Club in Akron, Ohio, hosting a two-day, 36-hole event on Friday and Saturday, April 16-17. Fans can follow the action via GolfStat Live Scoring.
