BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Akron fell 41-14 to Bowling Green at Doyt Perry Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Jeff Undercuffler led Akron's passing attack with 234 yards through the air.
Akron RB Lorenzo Lingard led all Zips rushers with 56 yards and one touchdown in the contest, picking up 4.7 yards per carry, while RB Drake Anderson also added 25 yards and one touchdown on the ground. Daniel George reeled in seven catches for 74 yards to lead the recieving corps.
Akron LB Bryan McCoy led the defense with nine tackles, while CJ Nunnally recorded two tackles for loss of nine yards and totaled five tackles on the day.
Akron converted on 50 percent of third-down attempts on the day.
Akron's defense held up against Bowling Green's offense, allowing 297 total yards.
The Falcons improved to 4-4 on the year and 2-2 in Mid-American Conference play, while the Zips fell to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in conference matchups.
After Bowling Green scored first to go up 3-0, Akron responded to take a 7-0 lead with 1:11 left in the first quarter.Bowling Green then scored to take a 41-7 lead before the Zips put a touchdown on the board to cut into the lead and make it a 41-14 game. Neither team scored again in the game.
