Swimming to Compete at the Tim Welsh Classic this Weekend

AKRON, Ohio – The Akron Zips women's swimming and diving program will hit the road this weekend as they head to South Bend, Indiana for the University of Notre Dame's Tim Welsh Classic on Friday and Saturday. Akron will be competing against Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Indiana State after their dual meet victory over Eastern Michigan last weekend.
Last time in the pool, the Zips defeated the Eagles 174-124 and have the MAC Swimmer of the Week on their team in Rachel Sabotin, who won her two individual events and helped with the gold medal efforts in the two relays. Rebecca Reid won the 200 yard freestyle by almost two seconds.Abigail Daniel had the top performances in the 100 yard backstroke and 200 yard breaststroke while Sara Bozso finished first in the 100 breaststroke. Aislinn Holder won the 50- and 100-yard freestyles. Weronika Gorecka finished the 200 yard backstroke at 2:00.36 to take first.
There will be three sessions, two on Friday at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. before closing out the meet on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Fans will be able to get live results with the Meet Mobile App, there will not be a livestream of the meet.
